GREENBUSH, Minn. (September 18, 2020) – The final two events of the 2020 Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota / NLSA Lightning Sprint season are here and there’s a three-horse race atop series point standings.
Seven-time feature winner this season, Dexter Dvergsten leads the way with a 16 point buffer between himself and second-place runner in the standings, Alan Truscinski. Not far behind the lead duo is 2018 series champion, Kelsi Pederson who sits two points behind Truscinski.
Part one of the doubleheader this weekend takes place tonight at the three-tenths mile bullring of River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.
In three previous visits to River Cities Speedway this season, Dvergsten has captured two of the wins, while Bryce Haugeberg claimed the other in what was the first win of his young career.
On Saturday night, the series heads to Devils Lake Speedway to cap off the season.
In six visits to the high-banked quarter-mile this season, there have been three different winners. Pederson leads all drivers with three trips to victory lane at Devils Lake Speedway, followed by Alex Truscinski who has a pair of wins.
Series point leader and 2016 champion, Dvergsten, also has one win at the speedway on May 30th.
Racing kicks off at 7pm both nights. If you can’t make it to the track tonight, tune in live on RiverCitiesSpeedway.tv.
