By Mike Spieker WEST FARGO, N.D. (June 26, 2020) – Another doubleheader weekend for the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota / NLSA Lightning Sprints is on tap. The action kicks off tonight at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo. Tonight’s event is the second visit of the season to the wide and racy three-eighths mile oval. The Minn-Kota / NLSA Lightning Sprints last visited Red River Valley Speedway on June 12th where Kelsi Pederson claimed her first career win at the track. Pederson outdueled Alex Truscinski in what was a great battle for the lead early on to claim the victory. Alan Truscinski, Bryce Haugeberg, Jason Berg and Dexter Dvergsten rounded out the top five. The series will head up to Devils Lake Speedway in Crary, N.D. on Saturday night. Pederson also picked up the win there last Saturday night. In action last week, second-year Lightning Sprint driver Bryce Haugeberg raced to his first career win at River Cities Speedway on Friday night. Haugeberg withstood immense pressure of Alan Truscinski all race long but was able to hold off the veteran driver by a narrow margin to claim the win. Following Friday’s event at the Bullring, the Lightning Sprints made the 65-mile trek west to Devils Lake Speedway where Kelsi Pederson collected her third win of the season. After starting sixth on the grid, Pederson took the point on lap eight and never looked back. The 2018 NLSA series champion picked up the win by a convincing five-second margin over Alan Truscinski. Cody Swenson, who recovered from a rollover on Friday night, finished third, Jason Berg and Alan Truscinski rounded out the top five. The green flag drops at 7pm both nights this weekend.
