By Mike Spieker WEST FARGO – For the third and final time in 2019, the NLSA Lightning Sprints will be taking on the high-banked three-eighths mile oval of Red River Valley Speedway. In the first two visits earlier this season, Alan Truscinski and Tim Estenson raced to victory lane. In both cases, the wins were the first of the season for each driver.
Perhaps the driver with the most momentum coming into tonight’s event is Kelsi Pederson. Pederson, who is the defending NLSA champion, swept both events when the series was last in action on August 8th and 9th. Those wins came at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn. and River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., respectively. Pederson started on the front row in both of those feature events and led the majority of each race en route to victory. Tonight’s races at Red River Valley Speedway mark the penultimate event of the 2019 season for the NLSA Lightning Sprints. The season finale will be held on September 13th at River Cities Speedway. KRJB 106.5FM and RJbroadcasting.com will have a live radio broadcast of tonight’s event at Red River Valley. Green flag drops at 7pm!
