(June 12, 2018) – It had been a few years since Trent Stengl had been behind the wheel of an NLSA Lightning Sprint, but on Saturday night the Oslo, Minn. driver looked like a seasoned veteran. Stengl jumped in Lawrence Veralrud’s No. 40 machine at Greenbush Race Park and claimed a convincing win.
Stengl started outside of the front row and grabbed the lead from Alan Truscinski on lap two. Once out front, Stengl built up a lead he would not relinquish as he paced the field for the remainder of the caution-free event.

Kelsi Pederson finished second, ahead of Alan Truscinski, Alex Truscinski and Dexter Dvergsten.

On Sunday, the series went south to Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, Minn. for their weekly stop at the quarter-mile clay oval. For the second time this season, Zak Kwiatkoski picked up the feature win.

Jason Berg grabbed the early lead from the pole position, but Kwiatkoski took the point on lap three from the third starting position. Kwiatkoski stretched out his advantage to a full straightaway around the quarter-mile dirt oval at the midpoint of the race.
Kwiatkoski cruised to his second win of the season as Josh Abrahamson and Tim Estenson rounded out the podium.
The NLSA Sprints have a three-race weekend lined up. The action kicks off Thursday, June 14th at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn. Following that, the series will make its regular stops at Greenbush Race Park on Saturday, June 16th and Buffalo River Race Park on Sunday, June 17th.
